Register for the Farr 1020 Race Weekend in conjunction with Weiti Boating Club, Whangaparaoa Peninsula
Let's get out of the harbor & enjoy some of the best sailing waters! A friendly race weekend, warm up for Nationals in conjunction with the Marauder Champs. Racing will be held in the area South of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, a great spot that has minimal tidal effect and rarely sees any traffic.
Saturday 1 April -Up to 4 x W/L’s, first start 0900 hrs
Sunday 2 April - 1 x Harbour Race on Start 0900 hrs
International Race Officer John Parrish will set two top marks. Second top mark for Farr 1020’s will be 0.1 nautical miles past the first top mark for Marauders.
Farr 1020’s please be mindful that the Marauder Fleet are sharing their championship race course with us. Where possible show good seamanship & avoid affecting their fleet, especially going round marks.
Two Farr 1020 Divisions will start together
Spinnaker Boats Division 1
Non Spinnaker Division 2
Handicapping adjustments will be made for boats that select non-spinnaker
Prizes to be provided by the Farr 1020 Association, venue and date of Prizegiving to be announced by the Farr 1020 Association prior to Sat 1 April. Entries close Wednesday 22nd March 2023
This is all about getting Farr 1020's out on the water together, open to all Farr 1020 boats registered with YNZ and whose owner/skippers are financial members of the Farr 1020 Owners Association. Let us know if you want to crew & we can partner you up with a boat. If you have extra crew to share around we want to help get as many boats out.
A fun couple of days racing in Whangaparaoa alongside the Marauder Champs. A great BBQ spot at the Weiti Club followed by a slower day on the Sunday enjoying the sun more than the wind.
Congratulations to Peter & the crew on Azure taking out the top spot. Followed by Cheap Transport, Shortie and Clearwater. 1st for Hinemaia in the non spinnaker division.
